Long day, short note!!!!

Who said "it was all downhill"?

We're at 700 meters from 1350, but both of our bodies feel worse tonight relative to last night after the climb.

Just a walk, and some talk, and no special hat coincidences or anything special, or was there? From O'Cebreiro to TriCastella --Met a 7 year old boy who's been walking since Le Puy ( started 1200 km and 3 months ago)-- so that seemed special. Met a couple last night and gave them some wine and THEN found out their getting married in September , then saw them again today and plan to tomorrow too!!! So that was special.

Made it down the hill in one piece, and the mountains of O'Cebreiro are no longer blocking the Atlantic Ocean air so a cool mist started the day and cool/cold was how we felt all day even in the sun!!! Special.

Lastly, sat down for dinner in Old Town Sarria-- opened up the paper on the table and saw that today's "La Progresso" daily paper had a story about??? THE 7 Year Old boy!!!!!we're on a roll, and so we saw a fellow pilgrim sitting down to eat alone, and I let matt know we should invite her to eat with us as fellow pilgrims. He say's sure (and that is absurdly special!!!).
So Muirenn (sp/ Gaelic) says sure she'd love to join us and I comment how nice it will be that not only will she join us BUT since she is Irish and speaks english we'll actually be able to converse with her too!!! Special!!

Did we know that beforehand? Absolutely not, we were just open to it.

So we discuss Ireland, U2, our trip, her trip (she's just arrived on the camino tonight and will walk the Sarria- Santiago route over the next 5/7 days. We only have 4 left so we'll move a little faster hopefully.)

And we talk about other adventures she's had, and she worked in Dumont NJ one summer, and she's been to south america and did the walk to Machu Picchu-- and she tells us all about the walk and the Inca's and how SPECIAL their civilization was--

And then she is off to her albergue and we are off the our stop for the night. And on the way back I might have mentioned to Matt how fortunate we were to have invited Muirenn to dinner and now with we know about Inca's then before and Muirenn knows why Dublin ran out of Guinness on Friday night!!!!

The experiences are there, wherever you are, and so are the peope, if YOU are open to it. Not JUST on the Camino de Santiago, but "any" and "every" where. "Any" and "every" person. Seek out the special"ness" of each person you meet or interact with. Its a great gift to uncover.

A shorter note, and challenging, but special, day.
